On March 21st, we had the opportunity to convene the first working session at the HUB of the Sectoral Data Spaces Program, a proposal promoted by the tate Secretariat for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA)aimed at promoting the development of data space projects in strategic sectors of the economy. This initiative aligns with the European Data Strategy, los , the European Data and Data Governance Regulations, and the achievement of the Single Data Market. This meeting brought together colleagues from the digital field, such as Núria Lloret from Metric Salad, Javier Gámez from the European University of Valencia, Javier Soriano from Blautic, Quique Alcántara from HUB 4iCV, Ivan Salazar from HUB 4iCV, Néstor Cervera from Neil, and Rosa Salinas from 4iCV.
The main purpose of this session was to explore the possibilities of presenting a joint project within the framework of the grants awarded by this call. With these subsidies, the partial financing of data spaces development in various sectors is sought, such as health, agri-food, sustainable mobility, commerce, industry, social economy, and care, among others (except tourism).
During the session, the opportunities and challenges of creating data spaces in different sectoral areas were discussed. Potential use cases were analyzed, as well as the specific needs of each sector in terms of functionality, privacy, security, and value creation from data.
Among the participants, there was a consensus on the importance of finding an area where value can be generated and maximizing the potential of sectoral data spaces. Possible areas of collaboration were explored, and the first steps were taken to develop a joint project that addresses the identified needs and challenges.
