On April 18th and 19th, the National Sports Industry Encounter of Spain took place in Zaragoza, bringing together representatives from the sports sector. We had the opportunity to attend, learning about the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
The event featured a diverse agenda that addressed key topics such as the vision of the sports industry in Spain, the impact of the image and success of Spanish sports, the role of clusters in the sports industry, sports practice and consumption of goods and services, health as a cross-cutting axis of the sports industry, the internationalization of the Spanish sports industry, and sports as an entertainment industry, among others.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the session dedicated to the creation of a National Sports Industry Cluster in Spain. During this session, criteria and principles for its establishment were discussed, including its definition, its role in relation to existing regional clusters, its governance, funding, and involvement of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD).
This encounter provided an invaluable platform for the exchange of ideas and collaboration among various stakeholders in the sports world. Additionally, it encouraged participating entities to establish connections and contribute to the growth and development of the sector.
