Hub Sports Valencia acoge una sesión Germano-Valenciana sobre Active Gaming en la UPV

Last Friday, November 22, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) hosted a German-Valencian Session on Active Gaming, an event that brought together experts in sports, technology, and interactive gaming, positioning Valencia as a benchmark in technological innovation applied to sports.

El encuentro contó con la participación de Javier Villavilla (UPV), Miguel Chover (Universitat Jaume I, UJI), Javier Gámez (Universidad Europea de Valencia, UEV) y Óscar Valle junto al equipo del Instituto Tecnológico de la Informática (ITI). Desde Alemania, asistieron Prof. Dr. Eckehard Fozzy, especialista en experiencias de «Joy of the Moment» de Múnich, y el Dr. David Unbehaun, reconocido por su trabajo en tecnologías aplicadas al active gaming en la Clausthal University of Technology & la University of Siegen.

Additional participants included Javier Montesa, representing Mediocubo, a company specialized in interactive and graphical solutions, Iván Salazar, president of the Hub Sports Valencia (4iCV Esport), and Oliver Salazar, a member of the same hub. The event also welcomed Juan Enguix from the Spanish Federation of Phygital Sports and Pablo Navarro, CEO of Ramboot, a Valencian eSports club.

The event not only highlighted the advancements and applications of active gaming—a discipline combining physical activity and digital entertainment—but also laid the groundwork for new international collaborative projects. Among the initiatives discussed were proposals to develop inclusive technologies integrating sports, augmented reality, and gaming, as well as designing interactive platforms to engage diverse audiences.

Hosted at the Hub 4iCV Esport facilities provided by UPV, this meeting strengthened ties between Germany and Spain, fostering synergies that position Valencia as a European hub for technological innovation in sports.
